We recently provided an articulated vehicle and trailer for a local village fete.

The trailer was dropped off on the Friday afternoon and lovingly decorated ready for Saturday morning. After the event we were delighted to receive a hand-made card from the children involved.

We have developed a new self-contained and secure area which can be hired on a weekly basis.

It’s a neutral area – meaning that you can use it as an extension of your business.

You’ll have access to power, compressed air, heat, good lighting and full access to our lifting and handling services on site should you need them.

In addition, we will provide you with a meeting room and light refreshments for you to use when demonstrating your equipment to your customers.

The new facility is available to all clients from October 2012.

We recently replaced our crane mounted trailer with a new 4-axle semi trailer fitted with a Fassi 110 Ton metre crane.

“The biggest improvement with the trailer is the increased loading space available of 10 metres, whereas the old trailer had only 8 metres”, said MD Jayson Flegg, “We have also fitted a larger capacity crane with more extensions, enabling us to lift more weight over a longer distance”.

The trailer will be accompanied by a brand new DAF 105XF tractor unit that is fitted with a larger engine.

Our previous tractor was slightly under powered for this type of work and fuel economy suffered, so we decided to go for a bigger engine which we expect to improve the fuel figures.

Colin has been with Flegg Transport for over 5 years, having worked as a machinery handling engineer.

Jayson will be concentrating on large/complex projects and training whereas Mark will be responsible for quotations, account management and marketing.

Colin will be integrated into the new position over a number of weeks and it is intended for him to fulfil the role full-time before the end of June.

“We decided to invest in new IT equipment a while ago and wanted a modern phone system so that we could deal with enquiries efficiently and professionally”, comments Mark Marshall – Commercial Director. “We spoke with out IT partners, Focused Networks and they sources a Cisco system that included wireless handsets and a function that allowed us to divert phone calls out of hours”.

Our new IT system allows the Directors to work remotely from the office too. Jayson Flegg, MD commented “Having these new systems in place enhances our position as one of the leading machinery moving companies in the country. We can now carry out a site inspection and have a quote and relevant safety documentation completed within a couple of hours. This is great news for our customers”.
